CUPS & AWARDS 2018/2019

This year our annual presentation and awards afternoon took place at the Jubilee Community Centre on 23rd November.

The event was very well attended and topped up our fundraising efforts for the week which included non uniform sessions and a spectacular raffle with prizes donated by lots of our lovely parents.

We would like to thank parents who volunteered raffle prizes, baked cakes, arranged flowers, chaperones and those and gave up their time before and during the event. We could NOT have done it without you.

Showcase & Presentation of Cups & Awards 2019

We would cordially like to invite you to the Redhurst annual Presentation Afternoon, which this year will be held at the Jubilee Community Centre, Charleswood Road, on Saturday 23rd November between 4.00 and 6.30pm.

You will have received more details via email by now. We hope that many of you will come and support the dancers on the day. In the meantime, we ask five things.

1. That you keep the date/time free, this is always a lovely afternoon, the children love getting together and seeing what they have learnt, it is lovely that all our students and parents have the opportunity to mix and celebrate our children’s achievements.

2. We ask that all trophies that were presented last year are to be returned as soon as possible in a clean condition.

3. Anyone inspired by the recent ‘Great British Bake Off’ please grab your apron and mixing bowl, we will be serving an afternoon tea and any cake donations will be very gratefully received. Don’t start baking just yet, we don’t require your creations until the 16th. Bringing cakes along on the day will be perfect, but if you definitely know you can do some baking, please let us now so that we can relax.

4. Raffle: with every event there is an obligatory raffle. Any donations will be gratefully received. Any profit that we make from the afternoon will be poured straight into show fund so that we keep the costs of the next show as low as possible. You can drop raffle prizes off at class or email [email protected] for other drop-off points. We also need one or two to help organise the raffle, gather the prizes together, make up hampers if appropriate and help on the day. If you think you can help, please contact us.

5. If you would like to volunteer for this or any other event please let us know. We are a small group trying to achieve big things. Simply get in touch.

Awards Evening 2018

SHOWCASE & PRESENTATION OF CUPS AND AWARDS

Saturday 29th September 2018– 4.30pm

Jubilee Community Centre

Dear Parents, as there has not been a lot of interest in our advertised Fund Raiser for next Saturday we have decided to refocus our fundraising efforts in this Show year commencing with Cups & Awards, with Afternoon tea. Subsequently the Fundraising team will be organising a major parents only fundraising evening in the spring, along with our termly Non-Uniform days. Watch this space and website for details as your support is needed to reach our £12,000 target!

Showcase

We will be presenting a short Showcase of a few chosen pieces from classes and Festival Work of the various genres we have within our curriculum. This will take place as previously advertised at Jubilee Community Centre Charlwoods Road commencing at 4.30pm with an Interval for Cream Teas & Cakes and a Silent Auction provided by my terrific parent supporters as part of our Fund Raising for the Show 2019.

Ticket prices £3.00 per person £10 Family ticket. If anyone can help the “A” Team on the day or make cakes please let me or Sam know. This will then be followed by the rest of our 2018 Prize Giving with the event finishing at approximately 6.30/7.00.

Cups & Awards

For those parents who are not familiar with our Prize Giving, there is an award for 1 child in every class, who my staff and I consider have made the most “Progress” throughout the past academic year. There are also Special Awards for Neatness, Musicality, Personality, Expression and even Theory! I do hope that as many of you as possible will attend to support and applaud those children who have been successful.

There are still some cups & awards outstanding from last time please can you return them clean no later than Wednesday 26th September to avoid the next recipient being disappointed.

Please see over for the Classes/Festival pieces I would like to take part. If your child is willing to participate, please email Sam ASAP so I can confirm numbers.

I’m sure it will be a most enjoyable and successful afternoon as we celebrate the pupil’s great achievements from this last academic year!

Thank you in advance for your support, looking forward to seeing you there!

Kindest regards,

Kay Ball

Showcase and Presentation Evening 2016

Saturday 2nd July at 5.30pm

We are really looking forward to the Showcase and Presentation Evening on Saturday Brambletye School Theatre Lewes Road. It will commence at 5.30pm. Limited parking will be available although the Pre-Prep should be empty.

If your child is performing, there will be a rehearsal/run through at the Theatre at 4.30 prior to the performance at 5.30pm. Please can they come dressed in their correct uniform with their hair in a neat ballet bun, if you are struggling with this there may be someone to help at the theatre where you arrive? If they are in 2 dances or more please bring uniform/costume in a ballet bag or small box as for show!

The children will be provided with a drink & biscuits between rehearsal & performance so they should not require extra food – A good lunch will be essential! Please let Chaperones know if they have allergies & provide alternatives.

Outstanding cups MUST be returned as soon as possible else there will be some VERY disappointed children!

Entrance to watch the Showcase will be £5 per adult (Children free)and there will be Tea & Cakes and a Raffle in the interval. This is to cover the cost of the theatre and any profit will go into the Show Fund for next year.

Thank you to those who have offered to help, obviously the more helpers the merrier, so if you are happy to help please step forward. Could I also ask for donations of cakes (homemade or shop bought) and raffle prizes.

Our Presentations should conclude no later than 7.30pm, all being well. I’m sure it will be a most enjoyable and successful evening as we celebrate the pupils great achievements from this last academic year!

Thank you in advance for your support, looking forward to seeing you there!

Kindest regards,

Kay Ball
